Bill Bredin

He is the former captain of the Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, NJ) Ironmen as well as the New Jersey Rockets which captured a silver medal at the USA Hockey Junior National Championships in 1987. Bredin finished his playing career as a two-sport student-athlete at Merrimack College, where he was also played lacrosse.

 

He is currently a level 4 USA Hockey certified coach with experiences as a head coach with several youth hockey organizations, at various age groups and competitive levels, spanning three decades. His first exposure to the professional game was as an intern with the New York Rangers. Bredin served the National Hockey League (NHL) as Manager of Scheduling & Operations from 1997-2004. He was hired as Deputy Commissioner of the United States Hockey League (USHL) following the NHL labor strike in 2004. He has served the AJHL and MJHL as Director of Officiating and USA Hockey Junior Officiating Development Program as an instructor and supervisor.

 

Bredin held the positions as Vice President, General Manager and Alternate Governor of the Johnstown Chiefs in the ECHL for the 2008/09 – 2009/10 seasons. Bredin recently (July, 2013) earned an MS degree in Sports Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
